Well as they say, all good things come to a close! This was my view on the last night staying down at our rental Villa in Spain.

I had decided to visit this Mirador on my last night and again the weather was kind at sunset. I spent a good hour up here and had a couple of Ibex clambering around near me at one point. The Mirador de la Granatilla marks the high point on the road between Mojacar and Carboneras. You can see the fabulously winding road leading down to the coast, with the Chimney of the Cement works in Carboneras, clearly visible. Beyond that there is the table top headland of Mesa de Roldan and in the far distance the mountain tops of Cabo de Gata.

If you look closely down the slope beyond the cactus plants you can see a "40" kph road sign that has been knocked over by some unfortunate motorist who has obviously failed to negotiate the corkscrew bend here! The drop here is quite steep, so not a place to leave the road!!
