The Armed Merchant Vessel Wicked Wench is a modified BFG Shipbuilding & Shipyards 7600-Class Light Container Ship. Main differences between the Wench & standard 7600's is the addition of an Oto Melara DARDO twin 40mm dual-purpose auto cannon mount & 4x M2HB 50-caliber heavy machine guns.

AMV Wicked Wench is owned & operated by Captain Hector Barbossa under the aegis of a Letter of Marque & Reprisal issued by the Federal Republic of America Navy (the nation under which the vessel is flagged as well).

The ship is flying the Federal Republic of America National Ensign from the mast & the Republic's merchant fleet pennants from the stern, marking it as a civilian vessel.

In addition to the addition of weapons systems, the original dual 12-cylinder bio-diesel engine power plant has been removed & replaced with a Federal Republic Navy compact fusion plant of the same type used on the Kestrel-Class Frigates, giving the Wench far greater speed & endurance than one would typically find on a merchant ship. This allows Captain Barbossa to charge a premium on shipping expensive goods due to being able to not only guarantee that they will reach their destination, but also far quicker than the competition can. The old diesel exhaust stacks were left in place as a measure of deception to fool pirates & enemy patrol craft.
