I own a Panasonic LUMIX LX3, and Panasonic Australia held a competition during 2010 - "LUMIX Life Focus on Australia."

7000 Australian amateur photographers pitted their talents against each other. Some of Australia's best known photographers (Bill Bachman, Leo Meier, Francis Mocnic, Nick Rains, Hugh Brown, Ken Duncan, Peter Eastway, Ted Grambeau, and renowned journalist Ray Martin) were also part of the competition - The 'playing field' was essentially a level one.

Of the 7000 entrants 100 winners were picked, and I was one of those 100 winners. My 15 minutes of fame!

The winners had their work published in a 155page book "LUMIX Life Focus on Australia. Winning photos from the nations best." along with the above professionals work. The book was signed and presented to me at a Panasonic Australia event on Fort Denison - a former British Colonial fortified island, located in the middle of Sydney Harbour.

The book is being produced for sale in bookshops throughout Australia. Importantly, all profits are being fed back into a very worthwhile endeavour, being an Australian indigenous youth arts training program 'Walk a While'.
