We are at Pisac, not the town in the valley, but high in the Andes mountains near the ruins of the old Inca city.
Tourists all over and she was walking in the burning sun trying to sell anything, but people walked by her if she wasn't here. I was sitting in the shade for at least 30 min, observing her, how she walked, trying to sell her stuff....a hard life that's for sure. The boy was heavy on her back and when getting thirsty she gave him something to drink, a moment i waited for.
Enjoy...

If you think Peru is only Andes, Inca and Machu Picchu than you are wrong.
Only 6 kilometers from Ica, lake Huacachina is a popular attraction. A true oasis, it is a green spot in a sea of sand. The area around the lake is known for dune buggy trips and sandboarding.
I wanted a sunrise picture, but when standing here at 6am the whole area was covered in a thick layer of fog. So i waited and waited and waited and waited and finally almost 3 hours later the sun came through and the yellow sandunes looked like gold. The duck was a bonus saying Buenos Días on this lovely morning.....sometimes waiting pays off.

After two months of closing because of bad weather and heavy floodings Machu Picchu has open his doors once again and you be able walking around the old Inca city...a monument of old ancient times.
No need for extra introduction i think, since 2007 on the list of new7wonders of the world....the famous ruins of Machu Picchu. Spending here a whole day, and although it's very touristic, for sure a place to visit.
Enjoy...

The Pan-American Highway (Spanish: Carretera Panamericana, Autopista Panamericana) is a network of roads measuring about 47,958 kilometers (29,800 miles) in total length. Except for an 87 kilometers (54 mi) rainforest break, called the Darién Gap, the road links the mainland nations of the Americas in a connected highway system. According to Guinness World Records, the Pan-American Highway is the world's longest "motorable road". However, because of the Darién Gap, it is not possible to cross between South America and Central America by traditional motor vehicle.
No comprehensive route is officially defined in Canada and the United States, though several highways in the U.S. are called "Pan-American".
This picture is taken near Nazca where the famous lines can be seen from the sky, but where also the Pan-American Highway is dividing the landscape.

Great architecture on Plaza de Armas in Cusco. Touristic, but a great town to stroll around and very photogenic places to see. This one is taken from one of the balconies of the restaurants looking over the main square.
