The Garzoni family owned a Villa on a hill overlooking the village Collodi which also included a garden on the very steep land. In 1786 they selected Ottavio Diodate, a local landscape architect, to design a water cascade with three flights of balustrade stairs leading downwards from the highest point of the garden. The result was one of the most impressive baroque gardens in Italy.
