We have photographed them flying., splash landing., fishing and then consuming
So it's only right to complete the 'circle'.... no further explanation required! From an afternoon in Brandon Marsh

We all have those days when things just seem to go our way (makes up for the vast majority of days when they don't!)
Our Cormorant was definitely having a good one when he emerged with this double helping of fish dinner
It took him a few minutes., but the fish was eventually 'dispatched' and swallowed 'whole' down that 'nothing is too big' elastic neck
Incredibly., this wasn't enough! he then continued on to pluck out a few more smaller fish for deserts!

He arrived with the usual spectacular 'splash' landing and then proceeded with his subterranean fishing expedition
Down he went., and we tried to follow him around using the ripples in the water as clues as to where he was., Its actually quite impressive how far and how long they can stay down there
After a number of failed attempts he finally surfaced with his main course for the day., we got our photographs., so apart from the Pike., everyone was happy!

One of the fun pastimes when photographing next to a lake or river is watching Cormorants going about their fishing
Diving into the water you never can be quite sure where they will re-emerge., and if they will have their next snack (or even the big lunch) in their beaks
Which makes it from our point of view a bit of a game... can you focus and click before the said snack or lunch disappears?!
Sometimes its not about angles., light and composition., its simply a matter of ''how quick can you click''!
