Taken in the Salzburg "Haus der Natur" After the recent stage shooting I thought, it would be nice to do something else and so I went to Salzburgs "Haus der Natur" with my sons last sunday (Oct 18th).

Reptilienzoo Nockalm, taken in an opened terrarium, so no disturbing glass. The snake is in real very small, maybe as thick as a little finger.

This is the real "green mamba". Often mixed up with the dendroaspis angusticeps, the leafgreen mamba, which is indeed much "greener".
The D. viridis is not as venomous as the black mamba but has a stronger venom as the D. angusticeps. Anyway, every untreated mamba bite is usually absolutely lethal.

It is a breathtaking beauty in the meaning of the word - if You get biten, Your breathing will stop after some time ;-)
A male, btw. his "wife" died a year ago, now he is alone.
