Zucchero in Linz /Intersportarena, April 2008
Adelmo Fornaciari was born in Roncocesi, a frazione of Reggio Emilia (Emilia-Romagna) though he spent most of his childhood in the seaside town of Forte dei Marmi. His pseudonym "Zucchero", meaning 'sugar', has been his nickname from a very young age, and was given to him by an elementary school teacher who said he was as sweet as sugar, calling him "marmellata e zucchero" – 'jam and sugar'.
