Winter can be trying at times, especially after so many grey wet days but the days are getting longer and yesterday the sun even shone! This picture was taken in Fife just west of Crombie on a small dead end road leading down to the Forth. The trees and lie of the road draw you into the scene and the bare trees reveal so much more of their character than is ever seen when they have their summer clothes on.
The toning in large part was achieved with DxO FilmPack 3? Does anyone have any experience with this programe? What do you think?

As with the previous picture this one was also taken in Fife, just west of Crombie, on a small dead end road leading down to the Forth. The tree is all that is left of what once must have been a mature beech tree but now its branches are dead and brittle and they have been worn back to stumps, leaving this bleak skeleton standing against the winter sky.

Meanwhile enough of dreaming of summer days past or in the future, winter still holds its grip and by all accounts we are in for more of these cold days next week. The day I took this picture the air was incredibly still and cold and the silence was absolute, until, in the distance, I could hear this strange phut, phut sound and as it came nearer it turned out to be two fisherman in their boat making their way down the loch but while the outboard made a background whine the real noise came from the fishermen who were talking loudly and punctuating every phrase with a repetitive and frequent Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!
