This series of photographs is about how to get married in France. First you find someone French and persuade them to marry you. That is the easy part. Next you need a civil ceremony, which takes place in the town hall ("Mairie" or "Hôtel de Ville"). This is the HdV at Mérignac, a suburb of Bordeaux.

Check out the area around the Hôtel de Ville for photo opportunities. The one at Mérignac is surrounded by a delightful park, which is very suitable for wedding photographs. Sundry wildlife wanders about, including this white peacock. I expect it's lucky, or something.
