I have been wanting to see this woodpecker for several years. What a fantastic opportunity to see not only male and female but babies!!! Nearly eye level and close. Once in a lifetime! (Thanks Rick for sharing).

Doris watched in amazement as this huge Red-tailed Hawk swooped down to catch a fish near the surface of the water on the Detroit River. She could not get a clear shot of it because of some bushes in front of her. I saw her motion towards me(actually jumping up &down screaming) as the hawk started to fly my way. I was able to get off a few shots as it flew by. Has this hawk been taking lessons from the eagles?I've never seen a hawk catch a fish in the water!
