Fluidr / Country Roads by one_man's

I have an obsession with country roads and weekend drives. I know it is wasteful of time and gas but I love the winding road, the quiet stretches, and the discovery of the unknown. I think it is rooted in growing up near orchards and vineyards as a kid; in playing in farms and fields. I will often take the rural route to a destination, knowing full well that it will take me longer to get where I am going, to enjoy the peace of the ride. More often than not, I am thrilled by the sense of adventure when we stop at a "casse croute" (chip stand or snack bar), a "bar laiterie" (ice cream stand), or an antique store at the chance of discovering something new or unique.

Today I am grateful for guilty pleasures and the werewithal to indulge them.
