I was sitting at a picnic table at the Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida having a well deserved sandwich when this family came strolling by.
At least that's what I thought they were going to do. Instead they walked right up to me, and one of the adults then made a quick stab with its beak and stole part of my sandwich, which it Immediately gave to one of the little ones. It is against the law to feed Sandhill Cranes in Florida. So I had to hide my sandwich until they left.
