Old falconry term for a male Sparrowhawk. In medieval days you were allotted a hawk relevant to your station in life... A Kestrel was for a Knave... A Sparrowhawk (female) was for a Priest and a Musket (male sparrow hawk) was for a Holy water clerk. To own a hawk outside of your station was punishable by death....!!! They were tough in those days...
