Some places remain largely unchanged. This is Leadenhall Market dating back to the fourteenth century. I used to frequent a sandwich bar here, now replaced by an expresso bar. The marathon route for the London 2012 Olympics went through it.

An ‘inside out’ construction designed by Richard Rogers and built between 1978 and 1986. It was around when I worked nearby, In fact I had a pass to get into the building so I could visit clients who had office space inside. As I remember it’s much more impressive from the inside.

From the garden at 120 Fenchurch Street

Also known as 30 St Mary Axe this was built in 2001-4 on the site of the Baltic Exchange which had been severely damaged by an IRA bomb in 1992.

I used to work in a building about 50 yards from where it was built , which has also been replaced called St Mary Axe House.

Just been on a visit to that there London, ( first proper visit since before Covid), partly to visit relatives , partly to go to a concert at the Palladium. I took the opportunity to visit the area of the City where I worked for 7 years back in the late 1980s. An awful lot has changed but I was pleased to visit the garden at 120 Fenchurch which is 15 stories up, has free access and offers a great view, albeit partly through glass balustrades.
