There are times when I can't believe I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Arches like this seem like they're pulled straight out of Moab in Utah.
Having these immense sandstone structures on an icy beach with a light dusting of snow is just the icing on the cake.
I had a nightmare of a time capturing this shot without featuring my bulbous shadow in the centre of the frame.
I played the game of hitting the shutter with a 10" timer to then perform the 'sprint of shadow removal'.
I did this several times and felt fairly smug that I'd managed to capture the shot without my own shadow until I got the images home and saw them full screen.
My sprinting may have removed my own shadow, but the shadow of my camera and tripod was ever-present.
Some quick spot-removal brushwork took care of that and I'm pretty happy with the finished result.
Expect to see a video from this adventure hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
Thanks for reading
Gavin
