El puente Luis I (en portugués: Ponte de D. Luís) es un puente sobre el río Duero que une Oporto con Vila Nova de Gaia. Fue inaugurado en 1886 y es uno de los lugares emblemáticos de la ciudad.

The Luis I bridge (Portuguese: Ponte de D. Luís) is a bridge over the Douro River, between Oporto and Vila Nova de Gaia. It was opened in 1886 and is one of the landmarks of the city.

El puente Luis I es un puente sobre el río Duero que une Oporto con Vila Nova de Gaia. Fue inaugurado en 1886 y es uno de los lugares emblemáticos de la ciudad. En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, el comercio progresaba en la ciudad de Oporto. Las fábricas se esparcían por todo el barrio oriental, llamado brasileño. El tráfico hacia Vila Nova de Gaia y Lisboa crecía continuamente y el puente colgante no era suficiente para satisfacerlo.

Luis I bridge is a bridge over the Douro River, between Oporto and Vila Nova de Gaia. It was opened in 1886 and is one of the landmarks of the city. In the second half of the 19th century, trade progressed in the city of Porto. Factories are scattered through the Eastern neighborhood, called Brazilian. Traffic to Vila Nova de Gaia and Lisbon grew continuously and the suspension bridge was not enough to satisfy him.
