El Rocío es una aldea del municipio de Almonte, en la provincia de Huelva, situada a 55 km de Huelva. En ella se celebra una importante peregrinación mariana, la Romería del Rocío. El pueblo cuenta con 1.635 habitantes (INE 2008), si bien durante la romería de Pentecostés el número de visitantes ha llegado a alcanzar la cifra de aproximadamente un millón de personas.

La ermita del Rocío es una ermita situada en la aldea de El Rocío, Almonte (Huelva). En ella se celebra anualmente la famosa Romería de El Rocío (en la que se venera a la Virgen del Rocío), y que en la actualidad congrega a más de un millón de personas. El proyecto de la actual ermita se debe a los arquitectos Antonio Delgado y Roig y Alberto Balbontín de Orta, realizado hacia 1960.

Dentro de la ermita se halla la Virgen del Rocío, una pequeña talla muy venerada. Su popularidad es grande en todo el mundo, ya que su veneración ha dado lugar a la romería más importante de España, que en la actualidad congrega cada año a más de un millón de personas.

Este año, debido a las copiosas lluvias que están asolando la zona, se está convirtiendo en un grave problema, la llegada de los romeros hasta la zona.
