I thought about the upcoming summer months, and the joys of warm weather. I took a bunch of pictures of this carnival ride, but all of them were blurry, except for this girl looking happily out at the crowd below. I was new to digital photography at the time, and did not understand that I could increase ISO past where I would be comfortable using a similar film speed.
The lens I used is nicknamed the "street sweeper" because of its wide folcal range. I called it "Unsharp at Any Speed." In 2018, it started emitting a grinding noise, and that was it.

This is Oregon and Washington's Rain Shadow effect demonstrated. The light on the water shows the sun breaking through the clouds over Hood River a few miles downstream while a wall of water loomed over the western gorge. I took the picture from an overlook near Mosier, Oregon.

I took this back around the year 2000, and I realized that I could do a better job on it than I did when I first posted it in 2017. I did a little Photoshop trickery with it, which I do now and again. I wanted to bring out the light of summer, which is importnt on a winter day.
