Fluidr / Black Bear Cubs by Max Waugh Photography

I'm continuing with my series ranking my First Fifty Trips to Yellowstone. This week I unveiled Trips #15-6, including my May, 2008 visit.

This trip was highlights by some excellent baby animal encounters, including my first good view of very young bear cubs. This was the last pair of offspring born to the famous black bear nicknamed Rosie. Unfortunately, the family did not survive the summer, as the black cub was attacked by a male bear and the sow presumably succumbed to old age (she was 18).
