Baba Makdhoom Shah had solemnly pledged that any sandal coming to his Shrine should first pay Salami or tribute to Chote Sarkar or Baba Fakhr as Fakhruddin Shah Baba a close associate of Baba Makdhoom is called.

So the devotee first visits the shrine of Baba Fakhr on Mahim main road before visiting the Dargah of Holy Saint Makdhoom Shah Baba.

Makdhoom Shah Babas Urus or annual celebrations last for 10 days and when the Urus gets over Baba Fakhruddin Shahs Urus begin and last for three days..,

The Mahim boys of this area hold Baba as the fulcrum of their existence and many a miracle has taken place , Ms Ekta Kapoor too visits his tomb on Thursdays I was told.

Close to the Dargah is the Dhuni where the Chancawalli Rafaees or body piercing Sufi mendicants will now sit till the end of the Urus.

On the main Urus day there is a huge procession , rafaees , bands , martial art performances , that I duly shot this Sunday..

My dear friend Munna bhai of Sangam Decorators who does the decoration of the Dargah is a family friend , and is a great devotee of Baba Fakhr..
