I have shot Mrs Darukhanawalla several times but somehow the pictures got badly underexposed on film , this time I shot them on digital.
I have a very strong liking for the Parsis, one of the finest race, highly educated, well mannered and a stickler for cleanliness.
Parsi owned second hand items are almost like branded items, and trustworthy in their authenticity too.
I have a childhood friend Rayomand Framroze, whom I call Bawa.
Than their is Mr Dinyar Jamshedjee owner of Noble Paints and his two kids Ashdeen and Shorveer..
I had a lot of friends from Cusrow Baugh at Colaba Causeway..Cyrus was one of them.
Keith Kanga who passed away was a half Bawa too..
My other dependable friend Khada Parsi of Byculla .

On Pateti Day this year I came to know she had passed away , she was a very nice lady who sold sandal wood next to the Tata Agiary.,.Bandra Hill Road.

PS
She used to see me drinking every morning at the irani restaurant where she came to buy brun , our eyes met she would look at me sadly and through her eyes try to tell me to quit alcohol.. I did many years later and that made her very happy ,, her shop is shut for several years now next to the Tata Agiary

Mrs Darukhanawalla is a very kind Parsi lady who has a sandalwood and agarbatti shop next to the Tata Agiary Bandra Hill Road.
We have known each other since a very long time, right from the days she used to see me drinking away early mornings at the Iranis a beer joint now defunct..at Bandra opposite the old New Talkies now the Globus mall.
It was here where all hardcore early morning tipplers of Bandra met for the Uttara..
Beer was served here or booze that was peg system.
You could have brun and kheema as acccompaniment..
Mrs Darukhanawalla would see me and give me a smile but always praying that I get out from the clutches of my alcoholic stupor..
I did and so Mrs Darukhanawalla who stays at Bandra Chinchpokli Road is a very special person.

Mrs Darukhanawalla died this year..

The Tata Agiary is my other pictorial haunt.
Mr Vazifdar the head priest of Tata Agiary an amiable and endearing likeable Parsi personality. He is a close friend of my patron Mr Diniyar Jamshedjee of Noble Paints.
Ever since I took up cudgels against the illegal demolition of this heritage fire temple by the Municipality, and posted the pictures on the net last year.Mr Vazifdar has become my good friend. The demolition of its porch to widen the Bandra Hell Road has been averted for the time being.
