once a year
they remember us
our wrinkles
our sufferings
our hair turned grey
their sense of shame
that they call it a
Mothers Day
they who threw
us on the roads
like human stray
bitter hardships
pain that has
become a mothers
mainstay
thank you
children of a lesser god
may you too become mothers
one day
so your childrens children
will also
remember a mother
this way
on Mothers Day
maternal instincts
a bounced cheque
that does not pay
a mother sitting
outside her
childrens doorway
curdled milk
of motherhood on display
glossy society
paying lip service
on the tombstone
of a Mothers decay
a Memoriam Mass
called Mothers Day

The Body post written at that time is not relevant to the picture, but every year I have come here to shoot an ambience not found anywhere in Mumbai, like what exists at the foot of the Minara Masjid, there is a huge crowd that gathers to watch me shoot, my dress code mesmerizes the people that come here to eat and also to what they call Pass Time or the Bambaiya eqivalent Time Pass… the aroma of the cooked food, the cuisinary fragrance all hits you at the same time.. this continues for the entire month of Ramzan.

The Tandoori chicken, teetar patridge or wild fowl, that avoid my camera , invariably I get in trouble , somethings you see dont shoot.

In Kampala in Uganda it is worse the locals all out to make money , can be violent if you shoot them and dont pay…but I used to manage having learnt to dodge and burn with an effective pictorial glib of an excuse…

THIS IS THE MOST FAMOUS EATERY AT MINARA MASJID… THEY GO CRAZY EVEY TIME I GO TO SHOOT THIR SIZZLING MALPUAS.. THE BOSSES AND THE KIDS ARE EPITOME OF RESPECT.. AND REALLY TAKE CARE OF THE GOURMAND, WHETHER HE COMES TO EAT OR SHOOT.
I DONT KNOW WHAT HIS REACTION WILL BE WHEN HE SEES MY DREADS… I AM NOT TAKING MY THREE HEADS FOR A CHANGE…
