Old young men women in a seperate enclosure and the Anjumans recite nohas and first the hand matam begins but as soon as the Noha Aye Sher e Nayastane Haidar Abbas starts a noha by Sacchey sab I draw out my dagger from Pushkar and begin my Kama Matam.
It is a Shaolin Chinese curved dagger that was blessed by my friend Raj Tilak at Brahma,Temple I buy my daggers from him when I go to Ajmer short trip to Pushkar .

Kama Matam is ritual that baffles me and yet facinates my basic senses ..I did my first Kama Matam during Chehlum in Hyderabad years back.
My kama matam is hardcore and I do not glorify this ritual that reflects the Shia pain for martyred Imam Hussain.
In Hyderabad almost all the Shia kids youth do Kama Matam ..rest to zanjir matam flagellating blades on chains .
The Hyderabadis did their Moharam in 2020 at Bargaj ..Imam Hussain is biggest emotion in a Shia mans life in Hyderabad .
Death does not scare him he would die gladly for his Imam ...mourning for his Iman is a duty and an obligation .
That is why I would come to Hyderabad to record 10 says Moharam ..I would come on 7 Moharam and leave back for Mumbai on 11 Moharam.
I made some great lifelong friends .
On my part this Moharam I followed pabdemic guidelines stayed home in Bandra .
