This morning I went with my dear friend Sagar Bekal to shoot the Lalbagh Chya Raja Visarjan, he was coming from Andheri in the train so he asked me to meet him at Bandra Station, we had shot Lalbagh Chya RajaVisarjan two years back,
From Bandra we traveled to Lower Parel and walked via Curry Road to the Pandal the security is allover and despite shooting Raja for over 10 years it is tough getting in two volunteers Mahendra and Asish recognized me let us in and we still had to go through another layer of private security , but we managed to enter the Pandal my first trip and Darshan this year .
I shot the Arti and than took a short cut from the fishmarket to catch up and shoot the Raja outside the gate .. than I decided to head back home as my health is not ok and I am barefeet , I was totally crushed by the crowds near the exit gate .
I walked shooting beggars and street shots took a train from Lower Parel showered , as they threw a lot of gulal on my body and my camera..if you tell them not to throw they double the amount with delirious joy.. but I take all this in my stride there were other incident of rudeness but it is all part and parcel of ritual photography I do look like an alien with a turban and a missing flying carpet ,,
I am happy with what I shot this time, this introduction is a mobile phone shot on my Motorola G.. rest is in my memory cards and my camera .
