This Silver-studded Blue female was being blown about by the strong breeze. We are lucky to live in an area of the country which has some colonies of this rare butterfly and we were very happy to see good numbers at our favourite spot. After the dreadful statistics given on Springwatch recently about the decline of many species it was encouraging to see them.
