The most common and widespread of British Wild Orchids is the Common Spotted Orchid. We are very lucky to have farmers in our area that understand and encourage land use for the conservation of wildlife and at the top of Dunkirk Hill are a number of fields of odd shape or inappropriate soils that have been left to become habitats for wild flowers and butterflies, birds and invertebrates. In two such fields are a fabulous collection of the most beautiful Common Spotted Orchids among wild grasses. A joy to see, Kent's Common Spotted Orchids - Dactylorhiza fuchsii
