This was shot for Koovs.com, perhaps the benchmark for online fashion in India and the sub continent. Every online site and there are tonnes of them in the burgeoning online market in India, copy or try to model their own choices on what Koovs does and presents on their website.
I do agree they are different. Quality and fashion style is their forte and they understand the medium so well.
Their choice of models is exemplary too. This is Rikee Chatterjee who does it with effortless ease it would seem but the amount of hard work she is willing to put in, none of the Indian models do. No wonder she is the poster girl for Indian fashion and modelling

Carrying on from the earlier postS talking about us as a species that has creative ways of doing things, here is another post from the same shoot.
The glitter bound on foundation makeup to create a masquerade mask remains the same. The distal red on the fingers and thumb inspired from the way hennah and alta is used by women in India as a mark of prosperity and fertility is not so visible here.
What we do see is the pendulum of light entering the frame to create a different feel to the portrait.

The Marilyn Monroe Redux -
""Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
The Marilyn Look is what she sports with no particular intent, I am sure. Add a black beauty spot on the left cheek and change the black hair to blonde and we have the picture complete.
This photo is neither a glamor shot nor a fashion shot. Halfway I would say. Glamor shots have tonnes of accessories to support the face but here there are no accessories whatsoever.
The fashion part is kind of truncated here as the black rose dress that she sports is not really in play here. You could possibly see that in a later photograph.
This has also been sharpened the way PS wants it to be done and what I used to do earlier till the plugins took over.
The background is concrete residential boxes of Gurgaon and have been retained purely for a cinematic feel with a really wide perspective and that a beautiful face will overcome the ugly pillboxes of existence.
