Another beauty from our day at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, east of Toronto.
Formerly known as Mosport International Raceway, Mosport has had several fatalities, both track crew, drivers, and riders, the most recognized being German Manfred Winkelhock who was killed in 1985 when his Porsche 962C crashed into a concrete wall. The most recent fatality at the track was in 2008 during the 29th annual Vintage Automobile Racing Association of Canada Racing Festival. Driver Dino Crescentini of Rochester Hills, MI - a ten-year veteran of vintage racing - lost control of his 1977 Wolf Dallara Can-Am car, which previously had been driven by the late Gilles Villeneuve. (Thanks to Wikipedia for some of this info.

3-shot handheld HDR.

Anyone able to ID this car's year or history?

A passenger waits for his driver during the mid-day show - all spectators are invited to take their cars on to the race track and drive the track as fast as they want. Unfortunately, there were so many spectators wanting to do this that a huge line-up to get on to the track resulted. And then on the track, there were so many cars that there was no racing. That part of the day was all over in 15 minutes. Then it was back to the real racers.

As always, best seen on Black.

Taken at Mosport - now the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, located north of Bowmanville, east of Toronto.
The event was the weekend of the Canadian Historic Grand Prix, featuring racing and car displays. This old beauty MG really caught the eye.
