Third in the Graffiti Alley series; this is showing both the amazing graffiti work on these walls, as well as some of the day-to-day "stuff" of those who live and work in the area. This is the back wall of the store whose name appears in the upper left - hence, the name of the shot, and also a nod to the subject matter on the wall.

Graffiti Alley is filled with clever, smart and professional-level graffiti. But it is also an alley is the fullest sense of the word, and it contains much of what we normally discard, abandon or just want to forget.
Here, under a "No Dumping" sign (which itself has been graffitied) one sees a fine and eclectic collection of "dumping".
All part of the show in Graffiti Alley.

On a street near Graffiti Alley, on the edge of Kensington Market in downtown Toronto, the sun beams its warmth on a family's clothesline, which is strung across their small front yard.

One of Toronto's Graffiti Alleys runs along Rush Lane, south of Queen St. W., from Spadina Ave. to Portland.
This lady, in the alley, was in this exact position for some time, without movement.
I've processed in b/w because I think it gives a better "grit" feel, which is how the Alley often feels. The only real colour in the original is the graffiti on the garage door.
As always, interesting in Black.

The day was overcast and rainy; Queen St. W. forms the northern boundary of Graffiti Alley; this is a street shot, a random sampling of the street. I thought the b/w combined with sepia toning treatment reflected the atmosphere on the street that day.
Last of this Graffiti Alley series. A new series on "Open Doors Toronto" coming soon.
Thanks for all your thoughts and comments - I hope you've enjoyed this look at a small but very artistic part of Toronto.
