Harada-san and his wife really, really love cats. And you can tell when you visit their neko cafe, Cat Café Miaw. The cats are super happy, healthy, and loved very much... so you can't help but get a happy feeling the entire time you're there. As it turns out, I'm pretty lazy when it comes to creating video! But I did pop the E-M5 over into video mode a few times to capture some bits of Osaka with the camera's diorama art filter turned on. I like the time-lapse, tilt-shift miniature effect that the art filter creates... it's fun! Seen and created while wandering on two different days with Teruhide-san and Mari. I remember when flickr first announced the addition of video... and I clearly recall thinking to myself that "flickr is for photos, youtube and vimeo are for video." So this is definitely the first time video has made it to my photostream. It's also most likely the last, but not so much because I don't think flickr is the appropriate forum for sharing video, but entirely because I'm a little embarrassed by my lack of talent as a videographer. (Even though its seems that fragments of my high school television production classes and six or seven years of volunteering at the community cable station like to sneak out from time to time.) Anyhow, I think this is pretty much the perfect way to close off this year's tulip series. So there you have it: my video, on flickr. Tulip Town, Mount Vernon, WA. April 21, 2011.
