Serene beauty of the Northumberland Strait coastline as the sun sets below the horizon...
We were staying at a cabin nearby, visiting friends and dessert was about to be served. Throughout dinner I kept an watchful eyes on the sky and dashed out of the door like a mad woman when it turned red. Did end up getting a few bites from the hungry mosquitoes but it's so worth it! 😊
Thanks for your visit; all faves and comments are greatly appreciated! 💖💖💖

Can you see what I see? 🤔🤔🤔
(hint: No zooming is needed; look at the left side of the iceberg where I drew a comment box...)
I promise you, once you see it, you can't unsee it! 😁😁😁
Photo's taken at sunset at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, the wind was so calm that the reflection was near perfect!
Thank you for your visit, wishing you a nice new week!🌷🌹🙏

From the outside, it looks like just a mountain; once you enter its interior, you will hear thundering and roaring. They are from a series of ten waterfalls (Trümmelbach Falls) located inside this mountain which carry over twenty thousand litres of water per second from the glacier walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains down to the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
It was a soaking wet day, a perfect day to visit Trümmelbach Falls because we would get wet anyway.
"The Trümmelbach Falls are the world's only glacier waterfalls that are accessible underground by lift, galleries, tunnels, paths and platforms. They alone carry the meltwater of the glaciers from the Jungfrau down to the valley - up to 20,000 liters of water per second. The water carries with it over 20,000 tons of boulders and scree per year and causes the entire mountain to shudder and make a thundering noise."
Thank you for taking a look, I appreciate your visit!

The Matterhorn is the Mountain of Mountains. Shaped like a jagged tooth, it's a magnet for adventurers looking for a mythical climb in Switzerland.
The Matterhorn became world-famous in 1865 after the first ascent which cost the lives of four out of seven alpinists. Since then, ambitious mountaineers aspired to climb it.
Morning is the best chance to see the Matterhorn in full view as clouds tend to move in later in the day.
For one of the best views of Matterhorn, it’s hard to beat Gornergrat. Once at the top station, you can simply enjoy the sweeping views of the Matterhorn and the Swiss Alps from the restaurant and terraces.
The best way to get to Gornergrat is to ride the Gornergrat Bahn, the highest open air railway in Europe, to the top station.
This photo of the Matterhorn was taken from inside the train in the early morning hour. To avoid the window glare/reflection, I was almost sitting on the floor. 😁
Thank you for your visit, dear Flickr friends!

The moon was rising as the sun was setting, with a bank of roll clouds pointing at the moon; what an interesting sight in the Bernese Alps on the second day of our trip!
