One Lonely Night
Reo Speedwagon

You and your baby had some words today
Til not another word was left to say
I see that grin boy
Maybe you think you'll win boy
Until the sun goes down and once again boy

One lonely night
One lonely night
That's all it takes to completely break you

They say it's darkest right before the dawn
But oh those darkest hours can be so long
You're feelin' strong boy
Tellin' yourself she's wrong boy
But how much longer can this night go on boy

Ooh she's such a good find
Have you gone and lost your mind
You should know she's one of a kind

Headed up to Hornby Lighthouse this morning, and came away with exactly what I went for. I had this dark and moody shot in mind for weeks, and at last, the cloud cover looked perfect for it. On the walk up from the carpark, I seriously had my doubts, as there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We arrived about 30 mins before first light, and by the time the light started to break through, the cloud had started to roll in from the S/E. Started to then get a little worried, perched on a clifftop, it started to blow a gale and sprinkle with rain. So, to say this was a challenging image to get is a bit of an understatement. The main priority was to stay safe which was never in doubt. Holding the umbrella, whilst juggling the camera controls and filters, and setting the stopwatch on the phone was the challenge, but it all worked out well, and I came away very happy.
Hope you like "One Lonely Night"...Cheers, Mike

Heaven Help Me
Rob Thomas

In the evening when the stars shine down
All the bridge and tunnel girls come out
We can dance until the walls fall down
Cause tonight we own this town
But in the morning when the sun's on fire
I'm burning through you like a razor wire
When we see ourselves in passing windows
We feel like hell, everyone knows

You can't go back, heaven help me
We've gone too far, when we can't be
The ones we want
This is who we are, who we are

A shot of neon in a window pane
A shot of whiskey and we end again
You're moving further but you just can't win
And that's the way it's always been
You don't wanna let your life go by
So you give until the well runs dry
But when you lose your faith it never comes back
And time don't wait, now you know that

You can't go back, heaven help me
We've gone too far, when we can't be
The ones we want
This is who we are, who we are

Send In The Clowns
Elaine Paige version

Isn't it rich?
Are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.

Isn't it bliss?
Don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around,
One who can't move.
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns.

Just when I'd stopped opening doors,
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours,
Making my entrance again with my usual flair,
Sure of my lines,
No one is there.

Don't you love farce?
My fault I fear.
I thought that you'd want what I want.
Sorry, my dear.
But where are the clowns?
Quick, send in the clowns.
Don't bother, they're here.

This is another edit from yesterday mornings shoot at Hornsby Lighthouse. The lighthouse has always reminded me of a circus tent, and this song sprung to mind as I was processing this one.
Hope you like "Send In The Clowns"...Cheers, Mike

Wonderful World
Louis Armstrong

I see trees of green, red roses, too,
I see them bloom, for me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue, and clouds of white,
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky,
Are also on the faces of people going by.
I see friends shaking hands, sayin', "How do you do?"
They're really sayin', "I love you."

Went to Camp Cove this morning with a big crew from Focus. We split the shoot into 3 options, some going to shoot Hornby Lighthouse from various locs, and some of us stayed at Camp Cove. This was taken just on sunrise, but looking West, so the sun was rising behind my back. It lit up the clouds over Sydney nicely, and the little boathouse or "Dunny" lit up well also. Had a great laugh whilst shooting this, thanks to my buddy Stephane. Hope you like "Wonderful World". Cheers, Mike

A "straightened up" version of the Pano posted yesterday. This should hopefully give the viewer an idea of the extremes we go to to get "The Shot". Love every second of it...
