Umbelliform flower shapes, especially silhouettes on colourful backgrounds, are an ongoing passion for me.
Chain stitches were used instead of the French knots in the previous series of umbels.

The seaweed in this piece was made using "Solvy". Once the stitching is complete the piece is submersed in water and everything dissolves leaving the network of stitches. I then appliquéd them to the surface of the landscape. Using water to make seaweed seems appropriate.
