The photo was taken on the main beach at Puerto Del Carmen. As this was on 7th January getting up for sunrise at about 8.00am was no great hardship. Taken using a Tripod with a Sony A550 and Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10mm.

This is the floor of the crater Montana Cuervo near Masdache, Lanzarote. It is not as well visited as many places on the Island despite its exceptional moon like beauty. It requires an easy 20 minute flat walk on a footpath from the road to the base of the Crater. Round the right hand side there is a great gash in the Crater wall permitting easy access to the crater floor. There are large numbers of rocks scattered across the Crater floor.
The picture is an HDR taken using a Tripod with a Sony A550 and Sigma 10-20 wide angle zoom at 10mm.

Outputted in Photomatrix to detail enhancer. Click the Camera name top right for the Exif information and details of the settings used.
Photoshop
The detail enhanced image was opened in Photoshop. Then the middle of the 3 original exposures was opened in raw. This was adjusted to bring the sky close to the main image. Copied as a new layer into the Detail enhanced image and the foreground masked off. This removed the movement effects of nearer clouds in the main image
