IN EXPLORE 17 November 2023

Another shot of the Schleißheim Palace in Munich this time it is the roof above the main stairs. The present structure is called the New Palace but it is not exactly new being built about 1700. It was built during the the reign of Elector Max Emanuel from 1680 to 1726 It had various predecessors including a much more modest farmhouse. The New Palace is one of the best examples of a European residential palace. The ceiling frescoes marked the beginning of a new epoch in South German ceiling painting, and the interiors, especially of the festival rooms and the state apartment with their stucco-work decoration, carved panelling and in particular their furniture, are some of the most magnificent of their kind

The shot was taken with a Sony A550 handheld. Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm. Three images for HDR processed with Photomatix 6/ image used edited first in Topaz Clarity and then processed in Photoshop to change the brightness of the windows. Finally processed in Topaz Photo AI to remove noise and sharpen.

IN EXPLORE 30 October 2023

When originally planning this trip I had planned on this day to go to the Nymphenburg Palace. However nearer the time I found that there was a special event on closing it. I thus switched to the equally beautiful Schleißheim Palace. This is on the edge of Munich and a lot further out from the centre and therefore much quieter. This is the Entrance Hall which has intricately designed, gold-gilded ceilings and marble pillars.

The shot was taken with a Sony A550 handheld using a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 15mm I used one RAW image initially edited in Camera Raw. Then Topaz Clarity. Next in Photoshop straightened and cropped and straightened verticals. Finally opened in Topaz Photo AI to remove Noise and Sharpen.

The shot was taken with a Sony A550 handheld. Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm. Three images for HDR processed with Photomatix 6/ image used edited first in Topaz Clarity and then processed in Photoshop to straighten and brighten the inside. Finally processed in Topaz Photo AI to remove noise and sharpen.

Another shot from the Marshall Building LSE London. On Saturday 9 September I went to London leading a group of 8 of us from Bognor Regis Camera Club. This picture is of an area further up in the building and a relaxation area for students before going into a Lecture theatre. The building was opened in January 2022. This was the first building we visited and my favourite. This is where Open House comes into its own where a building normally closed to the Public is thrown open during one or two days during Open House.

The shot was taken with a Sony A550 handheld. Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm. One image used edited first in Photomatix 6 with 3 images for HDR followed by Topaz Clarity.

On Saturday 9 September I went to London again leading a group of 8 of us from Bognor Regis Camera Club. This picture is of the stairs of the Marshall Building LSE situated at the northern edge of the campus opposite Lincoln Inn Fields. It was opened in January 2022. This was the first building we visited. This is where Open House comes into its own where a building normally closed to the Public is thrown open during one or two days during Open House. I would say this was my favourite building of the trip.

The shot was taken with a Sony A550 handheld. Taken with a Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm. One image used edited first in Camera Raw followed by Topaz Clarity.
