n a change from bluebells time now for a bright yellow spring image. I spotted this field when travelling on the train which runs alongside it by Oving a village just east of Chichester, West Sussex This is the 15.26 train from Brighton to Southampton on the South Coast line. On checking the OS Map I found there was a footpath running from Oving Road across the field edge to an uncontrolled crossing of the railway. The vibrant yellow flowers are coming to dominate many parts of rural Britain in the spring. Oil from rapeseed, known as Canola in the US, is commonly sold as the main ingredient in vegetable oil and used both in the home and in food production.

The shot was taken last Tuesday 4 May during a nice sunny day though with some showers. With the sun behind me it made for some nice colours. For locals this is east of Drayton and the path runs alongside the Chichester Flood Relief Channel.

The shot was taken with a Sony A550 with a Sigma 10-20 lens at 10 mm.Single image processed first in ON1 Raw processor. Topaz Clarity was used to add detail.
