Someone seeing my link to this photo on Reddit (hence the high number of views) kindly corrected my original title of “Reddening Holly." Here’s the redditor’s informative comment:
“Love the color! But looks like you have Oregon Grape here, and I'd guess the lower grower, Mahonia repens, but could be Mahonia nervosa—I've blanked on the distinguishers there! But holly it is not, as with that you'd have alternate leaves, instead of the opposite leaflets you have here.”
