The Wood Lily is native to North America and is widely distributed in Canada and parts of the United States.
Its preferred habitat includes forest openings and prairies with well drained soil. This wild flower is the floral emblem of the province of Saskatchewan in Canada.

With recent rainfall and cooler temperatures a plethora of fungi can be found blooming in the woods such as this diminutive Golden Waxy Cap mushroom (Hygrocybe flavescens) that appears semi translucent in a ray of sunlight finding its way through the forest canopy.
