The arctic sun has its way with remnants of a once mighty iceberg that became grounded in the coastal waters of Bylot Island (mountains of the island can be seen on the right) and then became locked in sea ice. The distant mountains of the northern tip of Baffin Island can be seen on the left.
Iceberg remnants such as the one in the photo serve as a source of fresh water when camping out on the sea ice.
