A composition looking north during the golden hour along the Coast of Big Sur.

Not exactly the "gold rush" California made it's name from. (The historic "gold rush" happened back in 1848 on the American River. California would be forever changed by a legacy of mining and the resources needed to support it.) The ultimate gold we appreciate in California doesn't require a shovel and a gold-pan, just a camera:^)

On the ebb tide it knows the harsh extremes of the land world, being exposed to heat and cold, to wind, to rain and drying sun.
