Taken near Merritt, British Columbia, Canada.

We were interested in going back to the Three-toed Woodpecker nest to monitor the progress of the newborn. On the previous visit the fledgling was not visible to the world outside of its nest hole.

However, when we returned a week later, he was not only visible, but very audible to everything within a hundred yards or so. Even a Red-breasted Nuthatch felt obligated to join in to the nerve jolting cacophany this youngster was making. And I thought my kids were noisy!

Here's a link to Dave's shot of our first encounter with Junior's Dad.

Taken on the road to the Nighthawk border crossing near Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada.

Perhaps the plainest in appearance as far as sparrows are concerned, however this little fella atones for it with a considerable aptitude for song.

Taken near Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada.

A more stand-offish, 'nose in the air,' cliquish crowd of ducks one would be hard pressed to find. Well at least they are having fun.

Taken out in the boondocks of the Fraser Valley, British Columbia, Canada.

Sorry for the shaky video. It was a long way out there and my camera was fully zoomed in. No tripod. I removed the sound due to wind and traffic noise for your listening pleasure.
