As a child growing up in what was then the small town of Bolton Ontario, Paul developed a deep love of nature and the outdoors. It was a love that would stay with him throughout his adult life.

One trip to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary with his youngest son in 2007 was all it took to ignite his passion for birds and he soon became an avid birder and photographer. He loved the thrill of finding and photographing new birds, all of beautiful places it took him, and all of the wonderful people he met along the way.

Here he is pictured enjoying a rare sunny December day in Campbell Valley Park with his good old Olympus SP550UZ, the camera with which he first learned the art of bird photography.

Paul passed away one year ago today after a brief battle with cancer. He is dearly missed.
