A Snowy Egret runs through the water to scare off another Snowy Egret from its "territory". Its kind of funny to see this behavior because this bird will circumvent other birds in the area to focus only on another snowy egret and chase it from its perceived territory. I tend to see this behavior a lot down around Robb Field at the mouth of the San Diego River as it enters the ocean. At low tide this area becomes a birding haven with many birds hunting through the low water for food or congregating in large flocks.
I was reading that this behavior is more common amongst Snow Egrets during breeding season at the end of March and beginning of April, but I have seen this behavior in this area through out the year, but mainly I just see one bird acting this way which makes me wonder if one bird is having this issue or I just see one bird at a time behaving this way.

With ears pricked and eyes locked ahead, this coyote dashes full throttle through the snow, honing in on the faint rustle of a rodent beneath the snow.
