Photography for me has always been a vehicle to collect reference material for my paintings. After flying across Lake Erie, this warbler rested outside my studio window for two days. Perched on an ugly Hydrangea bush, I took a number of photos for reference. Using a little artistic licensce, I painted this "magnolia" warbler on a "magnolia" branch.
