This photo is of a house located in Bodie, California, a old mining Ghost Town which is a State Historic Park. Located seven miles south of the town of Bridgeport and 13 miles off SR 395 on SR 270 on the Eastern side of the Sierra Mountains. The first 10 miles of road is paved and the last 3 miles is graveled and some what rough. Bodie became a boom town in 1877 and by 1879 had some 8500 people living in 2000 buildings and tents. There was 60 Saloons

This is the Standard Stamp Mill from the days of old. Built in the mid 1870's as the Bunker Hill Mine and renamed the Standard Mining Company. This operation extracted some 10,000 Tons of gold and silver ore worth some $15 Million over 25 years.

This was my Grandson checking out the insides of this very old house built in the late 1800's. Taken in the Ghost Town of Bodie, a California State Historic Park located on the Eastern Sierra mountain range seven miles south of the town of Bridgeport
