Unfortunately this was not a birding trip and I had to settle for my small zoom on an older Fuji X-T2. These were shy birds and did not let me get close. They were common in dry areas with low vegetation. They blended into their environment well and were hard to see. I flushed this one from its feeding area and it landed on a rock and stayed there for several seconds so I managed a photo.

A 1600 year old, large, underground cistern beneath the streets of Istanbul. It was recently restored and opened to visitors. When full it would have held about 2.7 million gallons (approx 10.1 million liters) of water.

It is now an art gallery as well as a historical site. You can see stone sculptures scattered about on the floor.

Wikipedia: "It was built by Roman Emperor Theodosius II between 428 and 443 to store water supplied by the Valens Aqueduct. "

The façade of an ancient Roman library near the town of Selçuk, Turkey. The library was completed around 117 AD(CE) during the reign of Hadrian.

The library likely collapsed from earthquakes and otherwise destroyed by ancient invasions. The façade was reconstructed by archaeologists in the 1970s
