I was coming home to the farm near Norquay, SK after a local wedding and noticed some aurora starting up, luckily I had my camera handy so I parked and watched a fairly impressive display and snapped away but I thought it was petering out at about 12:30 and packed up. I got about 2 miles down the road and a stones throw from the farm when the sky absolutely exploded with greens and purples almost to the southern horizon so I parked on the road and watched the entire sky dance for about another hour or so before I finally called it a night.

Red Fox pup, cute lil` guy ran right up to me and eventually poked his curious little nose right into my lens hood :)
