Have you been to the Monument Valley? Situated at the border of Utah and Arizona, the Monument Valley is entirely on Navajo land. Evidence of human settlement dates back as early as 6000-12000 BC, during the Ice Ages. This area is not only magnificent but also rich in history and culture. Each year, we are privileged to be able to show a few Action Photogs this special place. Tomorrow, we will start our Fall Hidden Gems adventure focusing on capturing the full moon with the amazing Southwest landscapes. Our Spring Hidden Gems adventure dates are set for June 2-7, 2023. We will focus on photographing the Milky Way in this landscape. General registration will be open on Monday. See you in the wild!

Watching the full moon rise over Lake Powell is breathtaking. It's such a beautiful spot as the distant cliffs catch the warm light from the western horizon and the pastel colors emerge. With our photo workshops, we pay careful attention to timing to ensure we get people to the right places at the right time!

Happy Halloween! Since we are in Mongolia, what could be better than taking on the role of a camel herder! It was a cold morning in the Gobi Desert as evidenced by the camel's breath. Fortunately, we warmed up quickly as we climbed the steep dunes with the camels. Immediately after I snapped this shot, the camel came up and kissed Evelyn on her shoulder. What a memorable morning we had with these magnificient animals!

We had a great time during our April Milky Way workshop! Mother Nature treated us to clear skies each night and we visited a number of amazing locations. This 3-frame horizontal pano was the final one of the workshop and was done in 2-passes. The first pass was for the sky at ISO 10,000, f2.8, 15mm, 13sec. 6 shots were stacked prior to merging to panoramic. The second pass was for the foreground and was shot at ISO 1600, f2.8, 15mm, 4min for better detail retention.
