I'm planning and unplanning my summer. I've been very insistent that I not revisit the same places I've visited the past several years in a row. While things are still incredibly fluid, for now I've re-routed through a bit of Idaho, which will allow me to say hello to Curlew National Grassland for the fourth year in a row.
I still have not figured out a way to trick myself into dropping in on Oglala National Grassland (pictured) for the sixth year in a row. I have a basic route planned out, and I'm literally hundreds of miles away. But fear not, I apparently love me some reruns.
Now, clearly I have no problem with re-visiting a place. It's wonderful to see how it's changed and I love digging deeper and exploring farther. But also, I need a bit of a change (the Idaho bits will be mostly on untrod ground).
Where will I visit this year? I don't usually give much detail before returning. It changes a lot anyway - even mid-trip.
But I do know that I probably won't be back in Nebraska, and almost certainly not here, in the Oglala Grass Land. But maybe you could visit.
